Feelings of anxiety, dread, and helplessness are at an all-time high. Everywhere we look we see signs that people are stressed or suffering. Fire season, catastrophic storms, and chaos are the new normal. We can no longer escape the impacts of a world in crisis.

These are unusual times. We are experiencing extreme heat, intense wildfires, and unpredictable floods today - while we also living with the uncertainty and dread of catastrophes to come.

Who is this for
We welcome people working on climate issues or in adjacent fields including mental health, education, community organizing, and journalism. Whether you’ve been working in this area for years or or you’re just beginning to feel the magnitude of this existential threat - everyone is welcome. You might be a therapist, coach or other professional for which climate change is now a pressing client or staff issue or you may be a parent or teacher worried about the well-being of generations to come. Anyone wanting to feel more human and humane is welcome.

Using Eugene Gendlin’s Felt Sense Focusing Process, this 8-week course is a gathering place for people wanting to deepen their capacity and skills working in the complex interplay of climate emotions. This course let’s you do that while also exploring your personal response to the crisis.

This course is polyvagal-informed and integrates Jan Winhall's Felt Sense Polyvagal Model™ and elements of Peter Levine's Somatic Experiencing approach. Ancient wisdom practices and current neuroscience findings are woven throughout.

  • develop an understanding of patterned threat or stress responses in yourself and the people around you

  • practice multiple ways of coming back to your centre

  • deepen you connection to your inner knowing (vs fear messaging)

  • explore and honour grief in ways that can shift us out of isolation
