I want you to feel powerful

We live in a world where crisis and chaos are constants. For many of us, chronic stress and trauma - including existential threats like climate change, and the loss of meaningful connection to lands and waters and communities of care - leave us feeling increasingly split apart and spiralling through cycles of numbness, stuckness, and overwhelm. Left unattended, we find ourselves isolated and feeling hopeless, alone, and powerless.

For many of us, talking about our problems doesn’t lead to the changes we want and need. We need to go deeper. Because real change emerges from a shift in meaning that is rooted in our bodily experience. In fact, often when we work this way - including more than just thoughts - what we learn is that what we “think” is the problem, isn’t. And, that through this somatic experience, the problems remain the same but how we are with them is different. We may feel a fresh sense of what to do, or who we are, what we need and how to find and receive it.

SOMATICS: connecting to Your INNER WISDOM & INTUITION

All of our ancestors had somatic practices that helped them sense their innate connection to the land, their bodies, and their deep inner knowing. In practice, somatics looks like intentionally noticing, exploring, and expressing the internal state of our bodies through voice, movement, or other forms of expression. Orienting to the world in this way often feels more like remembering a lost language and shifts how we understand ourselves in the world in a new and empowering way. When this innate inner navigating system is restored you trust yourself and act in the world with more freedom and from your deepest, truest self.

CONNECTION and sovereignty

Trauma, including the increasing and overwhelming threats associated with climate change and global instability, rely on the severence of our connection to our bodies and bodily wisdom. Without this connection, we lose our intrinsic sense of safety, and belonging. Safety is akin to a sense of competency - a feeling that we can meet life’s challenges. Somatic practices restore your connection to your body-wisdom and your cellular connection to the wild. Thus, you know yourself differently. Your relationship to lands and waters take on a new relationship. Your sense of self-trust awakens a deep capacity for clear-seeing and heart-centred living and you learn to weather the bumps and come back to your center again and again - without losing your access to connection and joy.

About Jenn

I have more than two decades of experience supporting people seeking a deeper connection to their inner source of power. I work 1:1 with individuals and large organizations to help address chronic and acute stress and survival patterns that hold us back from our truest expression of ourselves.

I am an expert in communications, and experiential psychology with certifications in Somatic Experiencing®, and Eugene Gendlin’s Focusing.

These are urgent times. The knowledge that our embodied individual change can carry over into collective systems change lights me up personally and professionally. Author and activist adrienne maree brown underscores this when she says “what we practice at the small scale sets patterns for the whole system.”

I am a clinical psychotherapist specializing in existential phenomoenology with advanced training in climate-inclusive therapy for individuals and groups. I bridge clinical practice, education, and activism in the service of a regenerative human presence on this planet. I facilitate climate support groups and present on topics related to climate change and psychological well-being both locally and online. I am also an active member of the Climate Psychology Alliance of North America.

I lead resilience workshops and programs for people and organizations working on and experiencing the impacts of climate change and help communities integrate direct experiences following wildfires, floods, and other catastrophes.

More than ever we need to expand our capacity for difficult emotions while connecting to our aliveness, including joy and pleasure.

All of my offerings are rooted in decolonizing and anti-oppressive ethics.
